it was a few days back a friend of mine called and told me about his plans to study abroad, i was shocked then. well he isnt one of the crasiest person about US kinds. Rather he is as connected to india as most of us. yet he is convinced that he has to move out of this place.
And that discussion has crumpled my heart and got me thinking and rethinking of migration of the youth to abroad.
After researching deeply about this issue I wasn’t surprised by the factors that caused migration but one thing that really caught my eye were the background processes that were happening behind migration during recent times.
Five decades ago, people migrated because they wanted a comfortable life, while on the other hand, countries welcomed them because that wiuld aid their economies. But this is certainly not true right now, people now migrate because they seek better opportunities , while on the other side countries welcome them not just to have an aid in there economies but their is a whole dark web behind it. What do you think? Is the grass greener on the other side? Let’s see..
Well in a recent interview with an American economist, he has revealed that America has nothing of its own! YES!! You’ve read it right! They have nothing of their own! They are recruiting Indian brains to help them in their reaearch and further innovate their technologies. In the end America is earning and increasing its GDP by selling the very own technology created by recruiting indian brains back to India. Moreover, one must also consider that all the raw materials and cheap manufacturing are done and exported from developing countries like India.
If i were to put this in simple words, I would say that they are using indians against Indian economy. And that’s why Indian economy is failing. The amount india is receiving is less than amount India is expending. Moreover, the irrational choice of resource allocation and momey investment by the government also adds to the problem.
I must also draw your attention to the fact that most educated parents psyche their children from the very beginning about dollar dreams. It’s not because they think there are lack of opportunities in India but because educating abroad and finally setting there is associated to their prestige. But they don’t realise that the investment they are making is going end their life in a miserable way. The point is that their kids will leave them alone to their woes. I mean just try feel the woe that their parents will experience! Do they deserve this? Definitely not!! HISTORY WILL BE REPEATED and it will repeat to those who left their parents alone!
Let me mention that migration is not a one directional process, rather it’s a colossal process that has been happening in all directions from thousands of years.
The point here is no developed country would like to see a country like India getting developed and because of this reason they welcome immigrants from India to hone their aims.
Now if indian government would think rationally it should do the other way around. Why don’t Indian government emphasis more on controlling population or maybe educating youth rather than making them schooled.
I here used the term schooled because i feel like most qualified youth in india do not even know what being educated means.
Now migration is as natural as breathing, sleeping, eating. It is a part of life and part of nature. So we need to find a proper kind of scenario for making modern migration rational. And when i say we i mean the whole India. Let’s work together to make migration rational.
I personally believe that there is a rigjt to migration, the same way there is a right to believe what you believe, right to love whom you like and right to say what you say.
In the end I’m in yhe favour of migration but I simply want to control the numbers.
